2000多名好奇的游客在法國南特市植物園排起長龍，希望觀看巨花魔芋開花的情形。

中新網據新加坡《聯合早報》報導，巨花魔芋也叫『泰坦魔芋』或者『屍花』，每10年才開花一次。報導稱，南特植物園的這棵魔芋是從6月29日開始開放的。

泰坦魔芋的花朵是世界上最大的，可以達到3公尺高，不過，南特植物園的這株開花高度只有1.6公尺。魔芋是先開花後長葉的植物，當花朵凋謝後，在地底的球莖上會長出一片葉子，這片葉子很大，可以長到六公尺高，五公尺寬，近似一棵小樹。葉柄頂端的分支上有很多小葉子。

巨花魔芋的原產地為蘇門答臘島西部，不過現在世界各地很多植物園都有種植，南特植物園的這棵是在2012年獲得的。

因為十年才得一見，而且花朵只開放72個小時，雖然花朵散發出難聞的腐屍味道，很多人還是爭著前來觀看。
