讓世界看見台東！WMI世界數學邀請賽，台東孩子奪2金2銅，成績亮眼，當中陳立教育基金會栽培的蔡嘉峻更獲得世界第1名。

2014WMI世界數學邀請賽總決賽日前落幕，今年在台灣比賽，參賽國家有台灣、馬來西亞、中國、菲律賓、泰國、香港、韓國、美國、印尼等國家。

由陳立教育基金會栽培的台東科學小菁英，拿下2金2銅。國小六年級蔡嘉峻金牌、國小四年級蘇筱純金牌、國小四年級蔡僑恩和國小四年級陳胤宇銅牌。

其中蔡嘉峻更獲得世界排名第1名，滿分300分拿到280分。蔡嘉峻3年前開始在台東科學小菁英上課，對數學培養出興趣，每天在家會抽空找題目練習，這幾年來數學競賽拿超過10個獎盃，大部分都是金牌。

基金會執行長高莉玲表示，這些孩子優異的成績證明台東雖處偏遠，但是只要有機會給他，孩子肯努力，台東一樣能前進世界，為國爭光，這些孩子開學後，會轉進由陳立基金會接手的「台東K12未來學校」就讀。

「WMI世界數學邀請賽」由台灣發起舉辦的國際性數學競賽，集合了世界各地致力於數學推廣的組織機構，每年在不同國家舉辦。每年5至7月舉辦「WMI世界數學邀請賽」之國手培訓營，經培訓甄選後進入8月中旬參加在台灣的總決賽。(中央社)
