Shakuntala Devi 於1929年11月4日出生於印度，父親為知名馴獅人，自幼與父親玩撲克魔術時對數字產生興趣，結下日後與數字之間的緣分，5歲就已經可以計算立方根，2013年4月21日卒於印度班加羅爾。她的生涯中曾經多次在全球多所大學接受現場測試，試驗其驚人的計算能力，最具代表性的就是在28秒內計算出2個13位數的乘積，曾名列世界紀錄，後來因為成績遠優於其他受測者，被認定鑑定有瑕疵因而剔除，儘管如此，她仍持續的在各地進行相關的表演。
